In gusts of more than 200km, our Connetics teams were out making safe and assessing sites until the wind finally blew itself out – literally.
From flying roof sheds breaking poles to trees damaging high voltage power lines, teams from lines, lighting, traffic management and our multi-skilled crews all got stuck in and completed more than 80 emergency repairs in the Canterbury area alone.
Over 8000 customers were without power on Saturday – by Sunday night this was in single figures.
